The Coaching Process
The process used in coaching involves analysis and research of the needs
of the individual helping them meet the needs of the organization. The
coach needs to understand what challenges are faced by the employee and
the organization in order to determine how coaching can help meet the
needs of both sets of challenges.
The coach needs to know where you’ve been and where you want to
go. Personal coaching must present the “before” and “after”
pictures that show remarkable results and in order to do so, time must
be spent getting to know the player or players.
Coaching can be managed face-to-face or by phone. Some individuals prefer
phone coaching because it better suits their schedule and allows for more
flexibility. The sessions are kept confidential and both parties sign
an agreement or “contract”. This agreement is rarely broken
except in cases of emergencies.
The sessions are typically 3 sessions per month for approximately 45
minutes per session for as long as the organization, coach and individual
feel is necessary.
